Source model

WAC's ETL configuration uses a few recurring terms. The public docs use the same terms because they make attribution clearer.

Organization

An organization is the agency or platform owner associated with the data, such as a state department of transportation or regional traveler-information service.

Source

A source is an upstream data feed, service, or published dataset used by WAC. Public docs describe the source type and data category, but usually omit raw endpoint details.

Operation

An operation is a WAC processing flow that uses a source. Public docs summarize operations by outcome, such as camera metadata updates, camera image freshness processing, or road-condition updates.

Region

A region groups organizations and sources by geography. Most implemented regions map to a U.S. state, though some traveler-information platforms cover broader areas.

Provider family

Many agencies use shared traveler-information platforms. WAC groups these as provider families, such as Castle Rock, TravelIQ, Travel Midwest, Iteris, or agency-specific feeds. This helps explain why similar data appears across multiple states.
